The Passport To Airlie Band Competition offers local artists the unique opportunity to win a spot performing on the main stage at the Airlie Beach Festival of Music. Each entrant will go head-to-head across four heats in a battle of the bands style competition. With three final rounds to decide who the lucky winner will be.

Successful acts from each round will go on to compete in the Passport To Airlie grand final where the winner will progress to represent Newcastle at the largest band competition in Australia. The National Passport to Airlie Grand Final is made up of several competing regions; including Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Nimbin, Tamworth, Illawarra, Adelaide and Darwin. The lucky winner from the National grand final is invited to perform on the main stage at Airlie Beach Festival Of Music 2018 and will receive 4 nights’ accommodation, VIP festival passes and a cash prize!

The 2017 event will once again take place at Newcastle’s Stag & Hunter Hotel where local favourite’s In Motion won the Newcastle leg of the event in 2016 that later saw them take out the National Passport To Airlie Comp and land themselves a spot on the main stage of the 2017 Airlie Beach Festival Of Music. The local Newcastle lads will be sharing the stage with the likes of Monsters Of Rock, Baby Animals, Glen Matlock and many more!
